Post passport interview

Post by friendinneed » Fri Apr 20, 2012 12:26 pm

So, passport interview yesterday AM, a few answers given incorrectly due to nerves/ understanding accents etc.

Today did another web progress update today and the response came back as "your application is currently going through the examination process" which is the same response received as the last time and having looked at the letter inviting to the interview, was after the letter had been done.

So, should anything be read into the fact it isnt "passport issued"? Is "examination process" a universal answer you always get now? What does happen if they aren't happy with your interview answers?

Unfortunately can't phone them to check.

Just always get very nervous before any interview at all, cant sleep the night before etc etc.

The questions they asked were fairly standard ones, the interview lasted less than 20 minutes, a fair amount of questions about partner, what do they do for living, who do they work for, where's their office etc.

Only "trick" questions was "who do you have a loan with?" when there are no loans

They were however very quick fire questions and with nerves + no sleep + speaking second language + quick fire questions so trying to give quick fire answers when some things are more complex than that resulted in stumbling over answers or giving wrong answers (so for BC right day and year but month out by 1).

Good luck to you and many thanks.

The questions asked (and remembered) were:

Have received the conformation it is being issued today, arrive in 4-5 working days

It is my wife that had the interview and it only lasted a little over 15 minutes but the questions she mentioned were:

What is your name
What is your dob
What is your mothers middle name
What is your address
What was your previous address

Where did you have the BC ceremony
When did you have it?
Did the Lord Mayor attend?
Are they male or female?
How many people were there?

Who was your counter signatory
How do you know them
How long have you known them
How old are they

Where did you get the form from
What did you do once you had the photos signed

What is your partners name
What is their date of birth
Who do they work for
Where do they work

What is your employment status

Who do you have an outstanding loan with ("trick question" as no loans)

The question asks who your loan is with (implied should you have one). There is only two ways of answering this question. 1) Yes, with financial entity ABC or 2) i don't have one.

It is plain straight forward and i fail to see your perception of it being a "trick" question.

Are passports not issued on an individual basis?

The implication of you having one when they know you dont (at least according to your CRA file) is a little bit of a trick question, in my book, but not a world ending one.

DX say our passport will be delivered today, so here's waiting as delivery companies always struggle with our address.

To get the update from IPS you submit the online form https://forms.direct.gov.uk/forms/form/ ... pplication
