helping a person in danger

Post by race09 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 6:40 pm

Hi All,
I have an ant whom his husband is high and have threaten to kill her.
lots of bit and hitting . last time she sent some photos, his husband has hitted her with car wheel lock in knee cab, eye, head ( don't want to carry on, very cruel).
He is one of those that is obsessive and if she leaves him then it is likely that he will try to kill or do some damage to her.

her option may be to leave the country she is in(Afghanistan).
If she does not, the husband has lots of connection and link and can send someone to spill acid or do some mental stuff to her as a revenge.
the husband is addict

I want to help her with some advice, I have heard that this people can go to turkey from where they will find a country that can host them and give them the right to reside in there

please advice on what do you think the best course of actions are

I'm not an asylum expert but I understand that first safe country is where one should apply. She can't go to Turkey, not apply for asylum there, and then cross Europe, and not apply for asylum there, and then enter the UK but apply for asylum there. I hope others can fill in the gaps in my understanding.

This is too complex for a general discussion forum; she needs individual advice from someone who has been briefed on her precise situation. Good luck.

There is nothing in the refugee convention that requires a refugee to claim asylum I
the first safe country although ukba would like to think it did. The Dublin regulation however does allow EU countries to send asylum seekers to the first EU country they arrived in in certain circumstances. However i understood from the op's question that he was asking whether the lady could claim asylum in turkey and then be resettled to another country but perhaps i misunderstood. OP can you confirm if this is what you are asking?

hi

thanks for the replies,

basically what i was asking is what options are there to help her?
doesn't matter which country as long as she is safe and unreachable by her husband

if she applies for visa and legally enter a country , then can she apply for asylum in there? i am not saying the UK, anywhere
