public funding ILR

Post by gorgio » Mon Apr 23, 2012 1:33 pm

My wife is currently on the 2 year probation period before applying for the ilr visa. i'm a full British citizen.
The problem is i now find myself in a predicament were i may need help financially with basic living costs, does any one know if im allowed to claim any public funding at all for example housing benefit work tax credits and will this effect our application when applying for the ilr visa in about 6 months?
if i claim wont it be considered has a joint claim as i'm obviously married will this directly effect my wife's visa application?

regards gorgio
