Help Required urgently
I would like to know If my current situation would allow me to apply for my tier 1 extension.
I was initially holding a Tier 2 after which I switched to Tier 1 starting Jul 2010 . I entered UK first on tier 1 in february 2011. But I have been working in Jersey Channel Islands for this entire duration since then. I wanted to know If I am currently eligible to apply for tier 1 extension.
I had been receiving conflicting information from various agents. I had given my case to Capital Visas In london who promptly charged 900 Pounds saying that I am eligible to apply. But now today they have come back saying that since I work in channel islands I am not eligible to apply and that I need to prove that I am part of UK mainland.
I understand that channel islands has its seperate immigration laws but does that stop myself from applying for extension of tier 1.
I had called home office prior to this where I received information saying that I can apply for a extension. But as per Capital Visas my agent in london they say that to fill in the form it is required that I put in the UK mainland address.
Also my currrent employer has provided me a work permit for Jersey UK but I have not gotten it stamped as previuosly the Immgration officer here said that my Tier 1 will be superceded. But I am currently running out of time as I will be travelling to India for Marriage reasons and will be back on 25 June and My Tier 1 Expires in JuL 07.
So is it a good idea to get my visa for Jersey and then travel to India or should I applly for tier 1 and then apply for Jersey work permit.
Please consider a look at my situation on urgent basis as I would like to decide on that basis whether to apply for extension or not, as the agents have been really not helpful apart from charging me without help.
Regards,
Santosh
