Tier 1 Dependent Marriage Certificate Clarification URGENT

Post by pegakrishna » Thu Apr 26, 2012 10:31 am

Hello All,

I'm planning to get Marriage Certificate in next month but issue is she is just applied passport.

So, we plan to submit her 10th Std Mark Sheet for Name Proof and it is printed as "A B Aishwarya"

We have been told that while filling the details for marriage certificate application form it will be written like below (as per proof - 10 Mark sheet)

First Name - Aishwarya
Last Name - A B

and they can issue marriage certificate accordingly.

Key Question:- When we apply Tier 1 Dependent Visa after receiver her passport, there will be a mismatch in Name as appears in Passport as well as Marriage Certificate ?

Will Visa gets rejected or any other issues we can foresee in near future during travelling ??

Please advise your valuable inputs. Thanks In Advance

Please advise accordingly.

Do you mean there will be change in last name or first name...If its last name it's perfectly Ok as long as you give marriage certificate alongside with your visa application and in the form you write both name( you would need to mention the previous surname in clumn where it ask if an applicant had other names)...

Hello pegakrishna
Simple answer, No there wont be any problem. The marriage certificate I received had my wife's name as her maiden name because it appears in her passport that way. But it does mention that it is the certificate of marriage solemnised between 'My name' as in my passport and 'Her name' as per her passport carrying her maiden name(which was is similar to the name she had in Class 10th Board certificate). This was what I had submitted when applying for my wife's Tier 1 dependent visa, which was successful
However make sure that you also provide other proofs, like marriage photograhs, wedding card, and if you have been away from her for a long time, then possibly phone call and email records of communication. Check this for more details

Yes, issue is Last Name only..

In Marriage Certificate - Last Name as A B

In Passport - Last Name as AXXXXX BXXXXX (Expansion)

Do we need to get any Name Variation letter from Notary Public for supporting purpose ?

Pls advise

Apologies for my previous post. It may be useful to submit a name variation letter or explain it with a cover letter.

No problem at all, silent_warrior. Can you pls share your contact number in PM ? I sent a message separately

Another thing is, In passport, currently it is printed old home address and my marriage certificate will have present (new) address.

Will it have any impact while I'm applying Tier 1 Dependent visa for my spouse ?

You wont face any problem. Just add marriage certificate along with your application and you would be OK

Yes, agreeing with gaurav76.5 ; it shouldnt affect your application. But make sure you mention it in your cover letter.
I have also replied back to your PM
