Accomodation issue

Post by ALBI » Thu Apr 26, 2012 11:15 am

Hi there

I am new in here.

I have a accommodation situation to sort out. I have my husband and a child of five to bring to UK. I got a well paid job and good savings.
I live in a large Studio flat which is around 22sq meter or 230qs feet large excluding bathroom and Spam. For the Studio flat I am renting I got a Short Hold Tenancy Agreement signed with the company I work for.

My question is, is this place large enough to accommodate me and my family. BTW, we are planning to move to a large accommodation latter on.

Thank you

Thanks Vinny
So, as I understood, according to Housing Act on Overcrowding;
a couple(2 persons) + a five years old child (½ person)= 2½ persons
cannot share a studio flat even though the floor area (230sq feet) of my studio flat exceeds the required minimum. Please correct me if I am wrong.
If this is the case then, and since I work in the same place where I live, shall I add another studio flat in my Tenancy Agreement or;
keep the studio flat and explain the situation to ECO saying that this accommodation is temporarily until we find another larger one.

Thanks
A
