Post by Jrk » Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:01 pm

I applied for diversity visa last year and results are coming back next week Tuesday! My question is an overstayer in the uk who has lived here 10 years without a criminal record, if an short listed for green card interview at the American embassy uk! Can they look at my status and refuse even with a renewed passport? Please help

I wish you success but remember you may not win the green card.If you are successful could you not try and getting the visa from your country?

Have you thought about regularizing your status in UK incase the green card falls through?

It is going to be hard.If they ask you what are you doing in UK what will you say?If the embassy tells you to go home and make the application there what will you do?

Please let us know if you are successful in getting the green card .

Did you get any help in making the application to UKBA?Did you appeal?

Overstaying is an Immigration Offence in the UK. A person commits the offence on the day when he or she first knows that leave to enter or remain has expired, and continues to commit it until such time as his or her position is regularised, for example through a further grant of leave to remain in the UK.
