Post by jibri » Thu Apr 26, 2012 8:57 pm

Dear All
I am working for small firm and my salary is around 15K(just started)
I am on psw which will expire in March13
my question is do i have to be on 20k now even i am on psw or at the time after I will apply for tier 2 and I don't want to apply for tier 2 now since my visa is valid till march13 but my employer wants to get licence now..can employer issue COS few months before my visa expire or it will automatically issue when he will receive licence?
thanks

-Get the SOC code and match your job description to a suitable one within the list ....Check the UKBA site for SOC description

- and Your salary must be up to 20K or ur job description whiever is higher

Thanks for your reply,
I have no confusion about job description or prospective salary
only problem is as I am on PSW now and my salry now is 15K but my employer is ready to give 20K when i will apply for tier 2 visa next year
my question is as now i am on 15K can it effect that how i got pay rise from
15k to 20K or home office only looking for future salary?

it doesnt' matter what you are paid now as long as your CoS states will be paid at the appropriate rate when you are granted Tier 2. However most jobs are more than £20K. Do you know what the appropriate rate is for your job?

COS only valid for 3 months. Once it is expired, you have to get a new one again. But your employer will lose a quota as the second COS will be counted as a new COS in the company quota.
