Tier 1 General Points for age and earnings

Post by wiyyala » Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:19 pm

Hi,

I am currently on Tier 1 (General) visa which was issued in Nov 2010 and is valid till Nov 2012. I am planning to apply for an extension in Nov 2012.

When I applied for Tier 1(General) visa for the first time in Oct 2010 I was 29 years old and I had to show earnings between 35,000 - 39,999 and when I would be applying for a Tier1 General extension in Nov 2012 I would have completed 31 years of age and according to the points calculator on UKBA website I should be earning more than 50,000.

I have also read a point in Tier 1 Application that the points would be given on the basis of the age when I have first applied.

Now my question is what points do I get for the age when applying for the extension and what is the earnings band i should be in to get 80 points (to qualify for the extension).

Thank you in advance

You would need to score same amount of points in your all future application (first extension/second extension if needed and ILR)

Age and qualification points remain same for future applications. Therefore income band remains same.

You will receive the same points for age as the points for age is considered as in the 1st successful application and you also need to show the same salary band which was demonstrated during the first successful application

@rizwan567 and @sudeepss

Thank you guys for a quick reply. just to clarify this again.

First time when I applied for Tier 1 I showed earnings between 35,000 - 39,999, so do you mean that I need to show similar earnings for my extension as well.

Thank you in advance

The easiest solution is use of Point Base Calculator from UKBA website.

It will ask you straight forward questions and I found it quite useful, when it comes to ambiguties like you mentioned in your question.
The question is... to be or not to be....
