Set O Section 6 Incorrect!

Post by Snaaz82 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 11:13 am

Hi all,

I recently visited the Croydon PEO for my ILR application as tier 2 migrant on the 25th of April. There were IT issues - have read a lot about these lately - and I left my documents with the caseworker after having my biometrics taken.

Only problem is I discovered afterwards that in section 6 under 'your first entry' I put down September 2000. It should be march 2007 as that's when my work permit started ( I switched to tier 2 for a different company on August 2009).

I have been in the UK since 2000 as a student before employment and this is the date I put down in section 6.1. Stupid thing to do I know but I'm now worried that it will invalidate my application.

I have listed my absences since 2000 chronologically and if the caseworker looks properly he/she will know that in the 5 years (7th march 2007 - 6th march 2012) I have everything in order .... Under 180 days absence etc. but question Is will they look?

Can someone shed some light on the situation.

Thank you!

I know you have put the wrong date and it should have been March 2007 but I don’t think so the case worker will refuse your application just on the basis of this tiny mistake.

You have not tried to deceive them and have told them another date which was correct according to your understanding at the time of filling the form and I am sure the CW will realise your mistake and will work out the correct date (Mar 2007) him/herself.

Thanks very much linkers.

I'm sure it's not the worst mistake ever made but you know how it is.... you can't stop worrying about it.

Also I think the fact that every case-worker seems to work differently doesn't help. Some are attentive while others can't be bothered.

Ah well... will just have to wait out and see.

Thanks again!

Don’t worry I don’t think so this mistake would cause any problem to the outcome of your application.

Well i don't consider it a mistake as I filled the date when my WP been issued and did not include the old passport but the CW specifically mentioned that your entry date should be the first entry date and you should include all your passports specially the first entry into the country so I am sure it would not be a problem what so ever.

Dont worry, I know exactly how you feel as I had recent IT experience at Solihull and still waiting for my BRP.

Good luck

Thanks Umerazair.

I do feel quite encouraged after what everyone including yourself have said.

I went for the PEO application as I thought I stood better chance face-to-face but ofcourse that never happened.

What's really annoying is that if you call up the General enquiries line every one tells you different things. This woman I spoke to last Friday said they can release information regarding individual cases only if 7 working days have lapsed. Another woman said no information before 6 months and yet another one denied that there were any IT issues at all Croydon. Its like a circus!!!!

Anyway thank you again and I hope you get some good news too. I thought Solihull was better but maybe not....
