Help with Fiance/Spouse Visa

Post by enzopert » Mon Apr 30, 2012 11:33 am

hey guys i need your help on this:

I had lived in UK for almost 10 years as an student but i returned to my home country to re-apply for my student visa at the end of 2010 but since i have tried twice and both times i have been refused on maintenance grands and my bank statements were not satisfactory for ECO even thou i had the money! and both times i lost my tuition fees with the colleges so in total more than 7k!
I have been in a relationship with a UK citizen since summer of 2009 and we wanted to get married but due to that both of us were students at the time we postponed it, but since due to my circumstances everything has been postponed, but now She has finished UNI and she has a work contract for a year earning 18k.
Right now we are thinking of applying for the Fiance/Spouse route instead of student as sooner or later we are going to do it, so might as well save time and money.

Together we can show about 8k in savings and I can have 2 other people to co-sponsor me if needs be!
but now we are thinking which route would be better for us, Fiance or Spouse? although she can arrange for a flat for us there and of course we need to pay for all of that up front! but i am worried that my refusals and the fact that i lived in UK before may have major influence on the application and if there is an interview what should i expect from it??

Thank you

What do you mean by "Fiancé or marriage"?

Fiancé(e)/spouse are similar routes, depending on marriage location.

I meant that should i apply as fiance then once in uk and married apply to change to spouse, or should we get married outside then apply as an spouse? sorry for the confusion!

Where do you want to marry? Note that a fiancé(e) visa holder should switch to FLR(M) after marriage in the UK.

Yes I am aware of the need to change once in UK, it will be either Turkey Or UAE.
