Tier 1 (G) Extensions maybe sent by post or in person, irrespective of whether the applicant is employed/self employed

However, i heard from this forum that some applications had been kept by the PEO if they think they need to do further examination, in that case should we pay for the premium fee or the postal fee?

That is correct. The time taken on PEO applications is dependent on case worker’s discretion.

If you submit the application in person, you will still pay the premium fee.
