Business Visitor Visa question - Advice please

I need to apply for a business visitor visa as I'm leaving the UK later this month. Can I apply for this before I leave the UK or can I only apply once I have left?

If anyone has any helpful information or advice with regards to the application process I would greatly appreciate the help.

You can not apply for a business visa from the UK and you are not permitted to work on this visa ie be employed by a British Company

I'm aware that this visa is only for meetings and conferrences etc but are you saying that I can't apply for this visa if I am employed by a british company?
