Hello, I applied for same day ILR on 28 march 2012 at croyden PEO. The case worker told me that my application will be forwarded to senior case worker but is likley to be rejected due to absences from UK. I then got letter dated 29 march 2012 from HO asking for detailed letter from my employer explaining my absence from UK were for business reasons. The employer letter was received by home office on 5 apr 2012. On 17 apr my employer sent letter to HO requesting expedited decision as I had to travel urgently for business on 24 apr. We did not hear back from home office. My local MP then called HO on 1 may 2012 requesting expedited decision given my urgent business travel. The HO told MPs office that my application is still being considered and they cannot give any timeline. I urgently need my passport back by end of may 2012 due to following reasons:
1) urgent business travel to USA
2) i am US green card holder and need to travel to US within 6 months otherwise I run risk of loosing my US green card. I definitely need my US green card as my son leaves in US with my ex-wife and I also need to travel to US on business
3) I got remarried in march 2012 and urgently need to apply for spouse visa for my wife through British embassy abroad
I will appreciate advice regarding how I can expedite my ilr application. Can I send a letter to MP outlining above 3 points and request expedited decision? Has anyone come across a case where they are told that ILR application will be rejected and then they get request for additional documents? Was the application successful or was it rejected? How long did the section take? I am very stressed that my ILR application is taking too long and HO is not giving any timeline. Any advice will be very much appreciated.
I would also like to know
1) is there an email address or telephone line or fax number for croyden PEO where I can call for status of same day ILR applications? I called the general line but they said they only have information on postal applications
2) I applied through OISC registered immigration advisor? Does it make a difference if I apply through solicitor rather than OISC immigration advisor? Should I talk to my employer's solicitor firm that they take over my case? It's a large firm with several immigration solicitors working for them?
Thanks for all your help.
