Pakistan Marriage and Id cards Nadra Registration

Post by aerojay786 » Tue May 08, 2012 2:08 pm

Hi I'm new to this forum and I previously just browsed through without posting.
so my situation is that I live in the UK but I have been engaged to my fiance since 2 and half years who is in Pakistan.

I seem to be confused about an issue that i could not search up on here your help will be greatly appreciated.

I have told my fiance to make her Id card the nadra one shanokti card i think it is called, and we are under the assumption that when we marry We have to make a new card so that her Fathers name is removed and my Name is registered as her second name and then her new second name(my name) will be applied to the passport and visa documents.

Can anyone help as we are planning to marry after the approximate June rulings by the home office and we dont want our visa to be declined due to an issue like this. Many thanks, Aero!

Hi thank you for replying, erm no we have been given this advice by local people who said that if my fiance is to make Id card now, when we are married we are told to renew it and change the second name to spouse name otherwise the visa wil not be given. it seems strange to me because if the husband came over he would not be called his wifes seconds name?

However I do not want my wife to change her surname, i want to keep it as it is from birth. :?:

Your wife can keep her old name, but the ID card must have her husbands name instead of her fathers name after she gets married, otherwise you may have problems

thank you dear mod! :D

So for example Nazia Begum Orginal Name This will be made on the First id card to register our marriage Nikkah. this name will also be used on the passport. But then When we are married The surname (Original) is changed on the ID card BUT the passport stays the same and no extra details added to the passport.
