Starting a business under spouse visa?

I'm in the uk ok a spouse visa, but having trouble finding work. Me and my wife were thinking of starting a small business under my name, and me being self-employed doing that. However, I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to start a business up under my visa. I do know I am allowed to work. We're just looking for any advice that can be given, from anyone who knows anything about this subject. We've tried asking the job center, and various other people, but can't seem to get any clear answers, no one really knows and we just keep getting sent to someone else. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

there are no restrictions on your work permission. You can set up a business on a spouse visa.
