Tier 1 (General) Visa Extension in the US?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows whether one can apply to get his/her Tier 1 (General) extended in the US? I cannot seem to find any information on this anywhere.

Extension (i.e.- leave to remain) can only be applied for from within UK.
From outside the UK one can only apply for entry clearance / leave to enter / visa.

You are not able to find any information because it is not there.
But if you have searched, everywhere it is clearly stated that from outside UK, you can't apply for extension.

Even if you have tried using Points calculator and chosen outside UK, it would have told you the same thing.
