previous address in the Northern Ireland

Hi! There is some strange question in the tier 2 application form.
J5. Have you lived in Northern Ireland in the last five years?

interesting what is for? does it makes any change? Why there is no question about Scotland, Wales? Or NI wants to join to republic of Ireland or become independent and they are going introduce own passports?
I used to live there for four years. Now I'm in London.I worry how it could affect my ILR and citizenship .

The reason they ask the question is because the UKBA do not have the same access to the Northern Ireland police records and therefore if you have lived in NI they may write to you to ask you to complete a disclosure form for your police records.

Living in NI will have no affect on your ILR or citizenship unless of course you have committed criminal offences whilst living there. You just need to answer the question.

If you had lived there for 4 years then one might think that you would know that NI is not about to joint the ROI or 'introduce own passports'
