Expiry Dates on the BRP

Post by kewlsatya » Mon May 14, 2012 2:11 pm

Just received my BRPs for the ILR today.

Have a query:
The expiry date on the BRP for my child (who is 3) is 2017, whereas I and my wife got a 2022 expiry date on the BRP. Do I need to get this rectified or is it the norm for children to get 5 year vaildity?

TIA!

it's normal. A child's appearance will change signifcantly in 5 years - therfore you will need to apply for a replacement BRP in 5 year's time. the expiry date is the expiry of the card and not of the ILR.

Would love to hear from others who have got similar expiry dates (just as a re-assurance to what Greenie has already mentioned :)).

What Greenie has told you is 110% correct.

I have recently got ILR for myself, wife and 2 kids (both kids under 5).

The expiry of mine and wife’s BRP is 10 years however the expiry of both kids’ BRPs is 5 years.
