Shengen visa for Tier1 PSW permist visa holders

Post by farideo » Mon May 14, 2012 8:57 pm

Hi,

I am planning 8 day trip to Europe. First country of visit will be Spain. I spent 2-3 days in Spain, full 3 days in Italy and 2 days in France.

1) I think I can apply for Shengen visa through both Spain and Italy consulates, am I right?
2) Which city I have to apply in if I live in Leeds.

Many thanks,
Farid

You should apply for your schengen visa from the first port of entry into the Schengen area. As you say you will be entering Spain first, you would need to get your Schengen visa from the Spanish Consulate in the UK to cover your 8 day trip.

You should check the Consulate website or give them a call to find out how to apply.

Thank you for prompt reply!

I know that last year in addition to standard rule (as you indicated I have to apply for your sch.visa from the first port of entry into the Schengen area) it was possible to apply for consulate of country where you will spent more time. Do not you know have rules been changed?

Yes, you can apply for the visa from the Consulate of the country that you intend to spend the most time. In your case theres not much difference in the number of days you're spending in Spain vs. Italy so I suggested the first port of entry in my response, but I'd say either of the Consulates would accept your application. If in doubt I'd just give them a ring and check to make sure.
