PEO Solihull - 15th May 2012

Post by reladith » Tue May 15, 2012 10:14 am

Good Morning All

I traveled to PEO Solihull yesterday to have my ILR approved. I was Working Holiday Visa (2006) > HSMP (2007) > Tier 1 (2009) > ILR applicant and made the booking for this appointment on 15th April. My Tier 1 expires on 25th May.

I arrived at 11:00 for a 12:00 appointment and parked in the Dominion Car Park behind the PEO office. Cost around £6 for 5 hours. Got in and went through the normal security check at 11:15am. They checked my SET O form to see that it was the latest one. whilst I was waiting i saw one person get asked to leave as they where bringing in an out-dated form.
I was given my number at 11:30 exactly, (They only hand out your number 30 minutes prior to your appointment), and at around 12:05 was called through to my interview.
The clerk asked for my form and asked a few questions about my history (For example i did a form COA and got married to an English girl in 2009) and then asked for my passport, 12 months payslips with bank statement backing and then my Life in the UK Test. I had all my payslips and bank statements marked accurately to save time, he commented on this being very useful and makes a considerable difference.
He then approved the application and i was asked to pay. This was all completed by 12:50pm.
I was then asked to go back to the foyer and wait for my number to be called out for the bio-metrics. I was called in at around 1pm and was out of there by 1:30pm. The bio-metrics was slow as they are having server upgrades...
I was then free to wander around Solihull for a few hours and get something to eat. There is a Wetherspoons that does a pint and a meal for £6 and an Indian/Asian buffet across the road.
I came back at around 2:50pm and everything was completed and approved.
I would suggest that all applicants do the following if going to Solihull
1. Take photocopies of all pages of your passport and banks statements/payslips + Life int he UK Test.
2. Don't bother getting in any earlier then 30 minutes prior

Cheers and good luck all...
