Restricted CoS

Post by boarder » Tue May 15, 2012 4:26 pm

my employer is a massive company, so I just want to double check I am being told everything correctly (chinese whispers and all that).

My employer have confirmed they will sponsor me. they have received their CoS allocation last week for this next year. they say that they can not submit a CoS application for me until the 5th June (apparently this happens on 5th of each month) - so they will submit the paperwork next week. Is this 5th of each month thing true?

They said that the Home Office will take until the 11th June to come back with the approval of the CoS. Is this true?

ideally, i want this done sooner as I have to return to my home country to apply and my current visa expires in July. I want to make sure I have enough time to sort my life out if the visa application isn't successful.

I always thought that once a company has their CoS they can issue them freely and it got critiqued in the visa application stage.

Any answers/confirmations/knowledge would be appreciated!

Read the following link:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/busin ... icted-cos/

snip:

Monthly allocation process

All applications received up to and including the 5th of each month will be considered on the 11th of the same month - the 'allocation date'. For example if you apply between 6 May and 5 June, your application will be decided on 11 June.

We will approve valid applications solely on the number of points scored, starting with the highest. In the event that the number of valid applications received is greater than the number of certificate of sponsorship available, those applications scoring the lowest number of points are less likely to be approved.

however, i'm currently on a Tier 5 YMS visa that expires mid July. My employment on this visa will technically terminate on my visa expiration date, and the start date of my new role will be a week later.

can i apply from my home country while I am still employed on my Tier 5 visa? or do i have to wait until i am "unemployed" at the end date of my Tier 5 visa?

thanks!
