Help, totally lost on UK Spuse Visa Application

Post by Mikeyboy » Tue May 15, 2012 9:06 pm

Hi, I am very new to this so sorry if I am asking stupid questions.

My Wife (we married yesterday) has been in the UK for 6 months on a visitors visa and had to leave today as it was due to expire tomorrow. She is now on route back to Rio and we are going to start the application process but I am a little lost. I have a couple of questions i was hoping I may be able to get some help with.

1) We have been together since just before Christmas and she lived with me from March 1st to today, do we still need to provide proof of communication (sms messages etc)?

2) Who should actually apply for the visa? I assume I will be her sponsor but who actually completes the online application?

At the moment that is all I am unclear of as we have all the other stuff in hand, again sorry if these are stupid questions but taking her to the airport the day after our wedding was fairly heartbreaking and I want her back as soon as possible.

1. It would be good to provide whatever you have
2. She is the applicant and responds to all the questions that are all directed at her, even when the question may be referring to her sponsor (you).

Are you saying you met her for the first time at Christmas in Rio and then returned with her to the UK? Has she been in the UK previously? Has she passed an approved English language test?

Hi, thanks for the quick response.

We have proof of address and a notice for marriage and marriage certificate in my address and around a thousand text messaged I even have a £300 phone bill we built up trying to arrange the wedding. Do I need to send copies of those??

Other than that all we have is FB, the problem is we never thought to take a lot of photo's as we weren't thinking about a visa so all we have is a handful of pictures from our time dating (but we have a LOT of wedding pics and cards from family etc.

I met her in London as she was already here. Not yet she is applying for that as soon as she gets back (it shouldn't be a problem as her English is good having lived here 6 months, and I don't speak Portuguese.
