Given Name - Change of Order

I have an Indian Passport where my given name has two words. It has my birth place as the first word and my actual name as the second word. I was not really worried about the order in India. But here in UK it is proving to be a headache as only the first word on my name is being considered which is not my name but my place of birth

I checked in HCI, London website where it was mentioned for change of name I need to advertise in newspapers and complete an affidavit. Are these things required in my case?
