BC Queries - Please help

Post by valluvan » Thu May 17, 2012 12:17 pm

Myself and my daughter had applied for BC. Both of us were born abroad. I applied under Tier1+ilr category and my daughter under MN1. Do we both get our registration certificates on the same time?

Does my daughter(5 year old) need to attend the ceremony or can we apply for a passport for her once she gets the registration certificate through the post?

Thanks
Val

As she was born abroad, her application depends on the outcome of your application.

You should get your naturalisation certificate in a ceremony. Your child doesn't need to attend a ceremony and her registration certificate will either be sent directly to you (around the same time you receive the approval letter) or it will be sent to the council together with your certificate (some times the HO is doing it that way).

Once your daughter receives her registration certificate, you can apply for a British passport for her.

It takes around 12 weeks sometimes more. My kid got in roughly 12 weeks so you should not be far away now.
