Tier 2 General- who will actually sponsor from the list?

Post by randomrules » Fri May 18, 2012 8:10 am

Hello everyone,

I am on a PSW Visa expiring late July 2012. At my wits' end as got two job offers from publishing and media companies ON the list, A-rated, which they had to withdraw due to being unable to justify sponsoring at my level. My question is, as the RLMT is not needed- which companies on the list, from your experience, actually do sponsor graduates in the fields of media/publishing? Are the odds impossible for me because what I do is not in IT/Banking etc?

I am a highly capable graduate with 1.5 years' experience in media/publishing, ongoing internships and a good CV. Just wanted to try and see if any of you had experience with being sponsored in a similar field to mine. if so, could you please, please, please send me a private message if you know who is open to hiring.

If you are worth being sponsored and better than those who do not need sponsorship, any registered sponsor will be ready to sponsor you.

Sponsors subscribe to the register to have the flexibility of employing worthy candidates from outside the EU if suitable candidates are not found within UK / EU. So, being on the register doesn't necessarily mean that they will only employ non-EU candidates ... but that they may if you can prove your worth.

Given the procedural issues, lead times, costs etc., I guess sponsors think quite judiciously on the "suitability" of UK/EU candidates vs. non-EU candidates before making a decision on who to employ.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
