Need Help ASAP Please regarding non EU Fiance

Post by Leeryan » Fri May 18, 2012 2:11 pm

Hi, I lived in Honduras, Central America for 7 years and after having a Nervous Breakdown have just returned to the UK with my Longterm GF (6yrs),she is only here on a 6 month tourist visa as i was Unable to do anything regarding Visa or Paperwork as all i wanted to do was get home.
She has about 4 Months left and i dont know what to do,i would like to marry her here but im unsure whether its legal to do that while shes only on 6month tourist visa?ive also just applied for jobseekers as there are no jobs in my town and i believe this will also affect things if we do marry and then apply for her visa?any help would be great as im totally unsure what to do as a next step

Thanks Lee

Marry in the UK before her visa expires, the she returns to Honduras to apply for a spouse visa.

or, she returns to Honduras and applies for a fiancee visa.

Or, if you have evidence of an unmarried partnership she can apply for this from Honduras.

There are no options within the rules for her to remain in the UK and switch her immigration status.
