Tier 1 (post study work) to Tier 1 General dependant

Post by wins7031 » Sat May 19, 2012 11:08 am

Hi,

I am currently under a PSW visa expiring in Dec 2012. I have been offered a job which starts on Sept 2012 and have been asked by my employer to sort out visa issues before commencing employment.

I was planning on being under my husband's sponsorship as he is currently under Tier 1 general category. His visa is due for renewal in July 2012. Given the sudden change in our circumstances, we tried applying for a premium service but couldnt get an appointment.

My questions are the foll:
- How long does an in country renewal application via post generally take?
- Once the renewal is recieved, should I exit the country (as I am on PSW) and apply from India for dependent visa?
- If yes to question 2, do I need to take my husband's passport alongwith to show his proof of residence?
- Is there a checklist for out of country (india) applications

Would really appreciate your advise

Regards
JW

- Once the renewal is recieved, should I exit the country (as I am on PSW) and apply from India for dependent visa? Yes
- If yes to question 2, do I need to take my husband's passport alongwith to show his proof of residence? A certified copy is fine.
- Is there a checklist for out of country (india) applications. On the application form.
