Travelling after the ceremony

Post by Nixnix » Sun May 20, 2012 2:46 pm

Hi everyone,

Ive just received my BC approval letter 2 days ago. And now is waiting a call back from the ceremony centre to arrange me the time.

The question is , I want to go to holiday + apply for passport at the same time. Does anybody know Whether I can do that ? Or do I need to give my passport to the passport office when they a processing my application?

Much appreciated if anyone can give me a hint. Thx

See Q4 in Citizenship FAQ - Common Questions - Passport.

Apply when you are back. Normally doesn't take more than 3-4 weeks.

Travel with your current foreign passport if it remains valid and you can use it to travel after acquiring British citizenship. If so, follow Jambo's suggestion.

Thanks Jambo and Sushdmehta.

Very strict forward answer and fast reply, wish I could have discovered this forum earlier.
