Spouse Name on New Tenancy Agreement ?

Post by hsmp2007Tier1 » Sun May 20, 2012 11:03 pm

Dear All,

I need your help on following issue:

I currently live in UK and have ILR, my future wife is from Pakistan.
I am going to marry in end-June.

Currently I live alone in 1 bed flat and my current ASSURED SHORTHOLD TENANCY agreement for 1 bed flat is due for renewal in few weeks time. I am soon going to ask the landlord to provide me another full year Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement. At the moment, in the current contract's "Permitted Occupants" clause it says *The tenants(my name) and no other.* Please advise, should I get the the name of my future wife included in the "Permitted Occupants" part of the the agreement or get another contract in only my name and later request the landlord for an additional letter saying that he dont have any objection for my wife to stay with me?

I need this information before i make the request to landlord for the new contract paperworks, so any earliest replies shall be much appreciated.

many thanks in advance !

Either.

thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated !

I think I will ask the landlord to add the future-spouse name in the permitted occupants section in the contract, so this way I will then not need to ask for an additional document at later stage.
