Requesting passport back

Hi

My wife applied for her ILR on 10years residency basis on Friday.

We had a family emergency on Saturday so we need to travel abroad ASAP. I want to findout what is best and quickest way to get her passport back.

As they are going to recieve her application on Monday so there is no point of paying a fee. We are thinking of giving them a call on Monday and also take out money from an account so it do not go through just incase they try charging our card.

Does anyone know how long they will take to return passport. She included special delivery envelope in her application.

15 Working days have password and still waiting for the passport.

Called HO numerous times and the only reply I get is that wait for 20 working days before inquiring.

Ridiculous, can't understand why returning a passport can take that long!!!!
