A bit confused

We are finally completing our application. My spouse is self employed and still holds his business until the visa. We are not sure what will happen afterwards may be leave it with someone for sometime and see. But i find it difficult to say on what he does and what he will do when he comes here. Supposed he still holds the business does that affect his commitment to settle in the UK.
