10 years long residency application

Post by robert2012 » Thu May 31, 2012 12:02 am

UKBA allows applications for the 10 year long residence ILR to be submitted up to 28 days in advance before the qualifying continuous residence period is completed.

Which of the following interpretation is correct :

i can apply up to 28 days in advance of the qualifying period but still need to have a valid visa to cover the full 10 years of the residency period in order for the ILR to be granted ?

or

i can apply for the ILR as long as the current visa expires no more than 28 days in advance of the full 10 years period ?

For example, i entered UK on 01 July 2002, and my current visa expires on 15 June 2012 (16 days before the qualifying 10 year period but within 28 days), can i get the ILR?

Thank you for anyone who can help.

You should apply no earlier than 28 days before the 10th anniversary of your entry in the UK and you should have valid leave on the date of such application.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

as per my understanding.....i think u should be fine... u can apply any time within 28 days prior to your 10th anniversary of living in uk.even tough ur current leave expire on 15th june u still be eligible to apply for Ilr...u can apply any time after 3rd june...
hope this answer ur question...
