text message for confirmation of appointment for PR

hi,

I just booked an appointment for my wife's PR at Croydon in person (she is on an independent tier 1- i was just booking the appointment for her) at a date in July.

the lady who gave the appointment provided me with a booking number, took my wife's mobile phone number but said that no further confirmation of the appointment would be provided.

When i got my PR; sometime ago, i received a text message after making the appointment and had to show the text message before entering the PEO. But i was told by the lady that they don't send texts anymore and i should just give the booking number to the staff at the PEO.

I must admit that this has worried me a bit as it seems a slightly lax process. Can anyone confirm that this is the current process - that the staff allow you to enter merely on the basis of mentioning a booking number

Booking reference number is enough to show at the PEO. I didnt recieve any text but just noted the ref number and showed to the officer at PEO.
