I would like to share my PEO experience on 31st of may @ solihull. I applied under Tier1 Category. Initially 2 years on HSMP and 3 years extension under Tier1.
Points I noted.
- Appointment at 9:30AM and I reached around 9AM and was dealt by security straight away.
- I was handed over a ticket that from my experience is required all the time until your originals are handed back to you.
- Case worker was a trainee under my category and she apologised in the beginning of requesting any papers from me. She was accompanied by a south eastern colleague who looked more comfortable and experienced than her. I was asked to hand over :

I only had 28 days family visit holidays in last 5 years and she took really long to count them and to check the stamps on passports. from what i could understand was that absences are taken really serious as she was getting trained on how to deal with candidates with more than 180 absences. I could hear that in cases like mine there is no issue and you can believe the application form and passport stamps.
- she forgot my cohabitation proof documents and it was reminded by her colleague that you are missing something and than she turned over her sheet that she was using to check mark all the points and she had a section on her form that asked about cohab proof. she asked me what proofs I have and I gave my joint bank statements for last two years and I also handed over my GP letters.
I heard the senior officer told her that for my category only one proof is sufficient as long as caseworker is happy with the proof. But crucial bit that I heard was if the candidate has handed over more proofs than do not return them back as you will have to file them anyways.
My advise will be to be prepared with all the documents but only handover the one that are requested. Don't be oversmart by handing over what is not requested as they will add that to your case and can cause more reasons for them to ask you more questions. My GP originals were kept by them but bank statements originals were returned.
I was than Asked to pay on counter 6. I was under the impression that I will be informed before payment if my case is approved or not but nothing of that sort happened. I guess its because the lady was a trainee and she did not know her pitches very well. she was so nervous that she wasn't even sure how many points I scored for my salary over last 12 months. she was corrected by the senior person each and every time she flipped the application form. I must say my heart was sinking.
Paid the money and came out and gave biometrics that took around 20 minutes. I was asked to come back in 1.5 hour and check on the reception if my papers are ready. I was nervous so I confirmed it with the cashier and the biometric person on what they think about my application approval and they said don't worry if you have come so far then it must have been approved.
I collected my originals around 12:30 and came out of PEO with a smile on my face.
Solihull Is not very child friendly place so be aware.
