Parent (of EEA child) in UK as a visitor - Can I switch?

Post by wishmist » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:02 pm

I am a New Zealand National and have a diploma in Criminology & Forensic Psychology, my 7 year old daughter was born in Dublin Ireland and is therefore EEA. I am currently here in Essex England in a Homeless shelter after my relationship with my fiancee broke down and the Essex Police came to our assistance and arranged emergency temporary accomodation for us. I am on a 90 day visitors visa and most likely looking at deportation. I was denied the Destitution Domestic Violence Conssession by the Home Office due to being only on a Visitors permit. The NZ embassy can only provide assistance insofar as to ring any friends or family I may have in NZ, but there is none as I havent been to NZ in over 15 years. I am hoping someone can provide advice regarding how I might apply for permission to remain during this perilous and uncertain time. My daughter needs to be in school and due to her status she is able to attend school here in England, but I am at a loss of where to go from here. :(

It is unlikely that you will be deported with an EU citizen child.

Where were you living prior to coming to the UK? What is your partners nationality?

So you are living presently with your daughter in the UK?

Where is the mother of your child, and what is her nationality? (I am assuming this is a different person than your fiancée)
