Post ILR questions

Post by Infinite-leave » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:58 pm

Hello guys,

I recently got my ILR under tier 1 general as far as i understand my ILR does not say anything about any sort of restrcitions. I have following questions and will be grateful if anyone could please answer it:

- i only had 28 days absences in last 5 years. Now before i apply for naturlization how many days am i allowed outside country. I read the following but it does not say anything about consecutive or non- consecutive and if you can confirm this as well-:

Absences from the UK during the residential qualifying period

During the residential qualifying period, you must not have been absent from the UK for more than 450 days. You must not have been absent for more than 90 days in the last 12 months.

We have discretion to allow absences above the normal limits. For details of how we apply discretion, you should read the Discretion on absences from the UK page.
- i have a child born outside uk and one born in this country. I know i can apply for MN1 application for passport born in this country but not sure if i will be able to apply for british passport at the same time for the other son who got ILR along with me and my MRS.

- are there any benefits we are not allowed to use until we have applied for our naturalization.

Thanks in advance.
Rob.

I suggest you read Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting. There is also a section about children.

With regards to benefits - if you mean social benefits, then there is no difference between ILR holder and BC.
