Family Visit Visa Query.

Hi ,
I am presently studying in UK as a Tier 4 General Adult student , and i have been in UK since last 5 month, my Visa expires in August end, and i would like to call my wife on a family visit visa, now for Example if there is only 2 or 3 months left for my visa to expiry, can my wife in India, apply for a family visit visa, and for how long will she get the visa, is it like minimum 180 days, so she can even get a visa for lesser duration depending on the Length of my Visa remaining.
