how did he get ILR??????

my stbx husband was on a fiance visa.....we married...but he abandoned me and our child after 19 months of marriage.......he somehow got ILR....how????? i though he had to stay at this address and stay married for 2 years?....he was violent ( police involved) and doesnt see his child either....how on earthhhh was he granted this?????

We can't guess what you, yourself, don't know and have not imparted to us. If he has submitted an application based on his partnership with you, without your sponsorship and against your will then he has committed a crime and your statement would see his status overturned. You would need to clarify the circumstances if you expect meaningful comment.
