Questions regarding UK-born son visa application from US

Post by ahk » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:47 pm

Hello All,

Long story but our FLR(O) application for our UK born son (American passport) was incorrectly rejected due to a technicality. As such, we're seeking entry clearance from the US (NY) while we're there for a wedding.

I am here on a Tier 1 (American) and my husband (Canadian) on an ancestry visa. We are asking that he be a dependent on the ancestry visa.

A few questions:

1. As we're currently living in the UK, the NY based address is my parent's. The form asks how long the baby has lived there, do I just say 0 months? Will this be a red flag to the immigration official?

2. The online form has two options: "Dependent of current Work Permit Holder" and "Dependent over 6 months". I am assuming we select the latter?

3. Since my husband is the sponsor, but not all of our accounts are jointly held, will they still accept financial statements that are only in my name? Should I go ahead and submit my P60 and payslips?

4. Do we need to submit all of our passports with the application? We did so in the UK but it's not clear if it's necessary in the US.

Many thanks for your help!!!!

You say the application was wrongly refused , who says it was wrongly refused ? Why not share the reasons it may help in you future application .
You will only need to submit sons original passport others can be certified copies .
