10 year query

Post by Kirn » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:53 pm

Has any one applied under long residence and has at least two gaps been successful?

I am asking because I have two gaps - the first one for two days and the second one for 15 days. The second gap is due to the fact that the university sent me the admission letter a week after my visa expired i.e - my visa expired 30 Nov 2006 . I got admitted and sent my application on 10 Dec. HO received form on 15th Dec 2006. Visa granted in April 2007 for two years.

On the other note , I have strong connections to UK. My girl friend is British and we have been together for past 9 years at least. Though there are no joint bills , we can prove that we are in a relationship. Secondly, i have done a lot of charity work and the charities have given letters to that effect.

According to guidance , I broke the lawful residence. Does my strong connections to UK sway the caseworker?

I appreciate any advise .

Thank you all a lot.

The strong connections will help, as well as the charity work. The rules are not in stone, so if you get a good solicitor who can present your case very well, you will have a decent shot. Get some evidence for your second gap as well. By the way the second gap is 10 days. They are considered from the date they were sent, if sent by post. Check your first gap to see if it actually is a gap as well.

Thank you for your reply. I am very pessimistic though.
