Switch to a new employer from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General

Post by hooplakid » Sun Jun 10, 2012 8:24 am

I am planning to switch from Tier 2 (ICT) to Tier 2 ( General ) . As I came in UK on Tier 2 ICT before April 2010 so I think I can switch.

I dont want to resign before I get my Tier 2 ( General) Visa. My existing Tier 2 ( ICT) visa is valid till Jan 2014 .So for example if I apply for my Tier 2 ( General) visa on 1st July and get visa on 1st Auguest then can I work for my existing employer until 31st Auguest as I will have to serve 30 days notice period ? I dont want start my notice period before the outcome of my Tier2 ( General ) visa .

Another question , if due to some technical reason my new Visa ( Tier 2 general )get rejected then can I work for my existing employer ?

1. Reading this topic should help.
2. Yes. If application is refused your current leave will remain valid.
