Hi All,
I have been in the UK for just over 14yrs now. I entered the UK legally in 1998 as a working holiday maker. When this ran out after two years I went to college to study for two years and then I went to uni to do a degree course. During that time I met my husband through work. We started living together in 2001. We decided to get married in 2002, because we really wanted to stay together and unfortunately my student visa had already ran out. I sent off my application for ILR as a spouse. Due to stressful circumstances our marriage broke up and we seperated in 2005. And moved to seperate addresses. I told the then called Home Office of my change of address. They still sent a reply to my application to my previous address. The worst thing about this is that from 2003 - 2006 I tried numerous times to get in contact with the Home Office callling them as often as every two weeks. All they said during this time was that my case had been handed to a case worker and they wouldnt give me any further information. Finally after putting the pressure on them and annoying them they told me that they had in fact in 2005 refused my application. From 2003- 2009 they had been constantly fobbing me off ! Anyway shortly after finding this out in 2009 they asked me for further information, photographs, wage slips, my now ex husband's passport ( which he provided as we are still on good terms. ) I sent all the required documents in Oct 2009 and I am still waiting for a response. In the meantime I did the KOL in UK test, got my certificate and tried to carry on my life as best I can. My question is does anyone know any GOOD, really Good Immigration Solicitors and is there anyone else out there who has had to wait this long to hear from the HOme Office , now UKBA ???
