to Appeal or not to Appeal

Post by Tanvi123 » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:35 pm

My mother applied for a five year visit visa which got rejected. she has previously visited UK 3 times on 6 months visit visa.

I sent a sponsor letter with my bank statements and payslips. I have a British Citizenship for last 3 years.

Reason for rejection was the account became overdrawn by £500 in the last month of the statement and low amount (£300) in my mothers account.

Can i apply for appeal on following basis:

1. my overdarft limit is £4k and only used £540 OD for few days. I can afford to pay for travel and other costs.

2. overdraft was for only for few days. i have a regular income. never took any benefit.

3. attach spouse bank statement with £5k balance (was not included with previously as i thought my payslips and bank statement showing continuous inflow of money is enough).

I will appreciate if you can provide any comments and what will be my chances of success if i appeal using IAFT-2 against this decision.

how long does the appeal process takes?

If you can prove the points that you were refused and can now provide documents to prove otherwise,It would be cheaper and quicker to reapply than appeal
