Schengen Visa - clarification on few questiosn.

Post by nikitasha8 » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:18 am

Hello all,

Me and my husband are going to apply for schengen visa from French embassy. we are taking 12 nights/13 days tour. I have few questions regarding application and travel insurance. I have asked my tour operator but they will charge me for clarifying this questions. Hope this forum can help me.

My husband has a Travel Insurance included with his bank acocunt. Please can you check below link and advise if this covers everything that is required for Schengen Travel insurance

http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accoun ... rance2.asp

Can you please also advise how can I book appointment with French Embassy i.e. by phone or online. Also I am confused with regards to few questions on the application form so please can you advise on them.

Q. 18 Residence in a country other than the country of current nationality.

I am on Tier 1 (General) visa and have been provided with a Biometric card. Where can I find the Residence Permit reference number as my passport has not been stamped so there would not be the reference number.

Q. 24 Number of entries requested.

Which option should be selected?

Q. 25 Duration of intended stay.

Will that be 12 days according to my tour or 13 days?

Q. 28 Entry permit for the final country of destination, where applicable

Not sure what to write in this question

Q. 33 Cost of travelling and Living during the applicant’s stay is covered

I understand for my application I have to select the option of myself but what should I select on my husbands application. He is on a dependent visa and so I will be sponsoring him.

Thanks in advance

Don't know, but the embassies give guidance on insurance requirements. Look one up. (The policyholder and insurance limits are important)

Thanks for the link

When I go to TSL Contact website I am being asked below question:

Q) Are you going to French overseas territories? Yes or No

Q) Does your British residency state the name of your spouse, fiancé (e), unmarried partner or child? Yes or No
(I am Indian citizen and on Tier 1 visa but my husband is on a dependent visa)

I have answered No to the above questions. Is that right?

Also when I start online registration I am being asked below question

Q) Member state for First Entry and Member state of Destination? What should be answer for this question?

Q) Is your host an organisation? Not sure how to answer this

Also how should I book an appointment for my husband as he is my dependent he will have to apply together with me?

Q) Are you going to French overseas territories? Yes or No If you don't know the answer to this, then you probably are not. If you are going to mainland France, then no.

Q) Does your British residency state the name of your spouse, fiancé (e), unmarried partner or child? Yes or No

You have residency in the UK.

I have answered No to the above questions. Is that right?

Q) Member state for First Entry and Member state of Destination? What should be answer for this question?

Whatever country you will enter first - France for example.

Q) Is your host an organisation? Not sure how to answer this

Is it an individual, a hotel, a tour operator?

Also how should I book an appointment for my husband as he is my dependent he will have to apply together with me?

Apply together
