Inviting parents to attend graduation ceremony

Not really, but it depends on the circumstances. If you are a Tier 2 migrant you need to be in employment to be considered as a legal resident living within the rules of that particular leave. Otherwise I can't think of any situation that might demand you be employed to sponsor family visitors.
