Where did you read that you need maintenance fund for FLR(M) application?

AIUI, whoever is responsible for proof-reading or uploading the content published on the UKBA website has goofed up!

The 27 months and 2 years mentioned on that page is the "probationary period" and not the time period that one needs to hold maintenance (funds) for ... though it appears to be the case if you do not read carefully.

There is no requirement of "maintenance fund" under the family migration route, under current rules.

Provide 3-6 months of bank statements of sponsor.

FLR(M)--English language requirement

Post by happygolucky » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:32 pm

hi,

in the FLR(M) guide notes, it says"
Master’s degrees and PhDs will not be accepted
as evidence. This is because UK NARIC is only
able to assess whether a Bachelor’s degree
(and not a Master’s degree or PhD) was taught in
English."

however in the UKBA website it says
Degree taught in English

If you want to show that you meet the English language requirement because you hold an acceptable degree taught in English, you should provide the original certificate of your award.

This certificate must be original, and must clearly show:

your name
the title of the award
the date of the award
the name of the awarding institution

i am currently a Tier 1 General Visa holder. i did my master degree in UK. so my questions is will i able to use my master degree certificate to demomstrate my lanugage skills? or i have to take language test?

thanks

If you got points for your qualification under PBS, you'll not need to take an exam.
Read Q&A guidance for applicants

Should be okay. If you wish to, explain in a covering letter that you'll be renting another similar sized property near the end of tenancy.

If still worried, provide current tenancy agreement copy and also evidence of 3rd party support.

This page describes the English language requirement for non-European migrants who are applying to enter or remain in the UK as the husbands, wives and civil partners of British citizens and people settled here.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... -language/
(but mine is unmarried partner. will this rules still apply?)

also the reason i worried is because the enquiry line has double checked with some other people. and he told me they forgot to update the website and said i have to follow the guide notes. as the guide notes is for 04/12

the enquiry line are talking complete nonsense. If you want a definitive answer then refer to the immigration rules

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... xpartners/

para 295D(xi)(c).

the information is also in the the documents I have given you a link to.

the enquiry line people are not caseworkers and they do not know the rules. you can see the rules for yourself.

FLR(M) - one year paper missing..what can i do?

Post by happygolucky » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:44 am

i have been living together with my partner since 2007 until now (2012). i know it's 5 years that we have been living together and this is more than the 2 year requirement by the UKBA. however, i cannot found any paper proof i was living in the same place with him in 2008. because i have sorted out the old papers and documents last year and kind of shred them all. but i have enough paper work to proof for the rest 4 years. will that be ok?
