Hello - I've seen a number of posts asking if one can travel before their BRP arrives, but I haven't actually seen any follow-up posts as to whether it was attempted, and what actually happened upon return to the UK. Apologies if I missed them.
I'm in a similar situation to most of the previous posters - booked an appt in Glasgow for ILR as I was uncomfortable with being without my passport (and only form of photo ID) for what could be several months. Was successful getting ILR, but foolishly didn't realise at the time that the BRP was the only way I had to prove this. I think I was so relieved to have the process over with I wasn't thinking straight, and was used to having my Work Permit in my passport so I presumed that this would be the case again with ILR.
Currently trying to get in touch with the PEO in Glasgow to see what they say, as I'm due to fly soon (flights booked *months* ago), but am curious to hear what others experience has been. I have the letter stating my BRP is on it's way, and my old work permit has been stamped with 'Leave superseded by BRP'. I'm a US citizen, so have no Visa issues for entering the country normally.
Thanks
