Probationary period for marriage

Post by send2archan » Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:43 pm

Hi guys,

As at 13 June 12, the UKBA announced a few changes to the existing rules. Details can be found here:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... -migration

We got married in Feb 12 and my wife got her Visa entry clearance (Tier 1 G dependent) in April 12. I will apply for my ILR in Sept 12 and hence, I will need to apply for FLR M for my wife around same time. However, I am confused that when can my wife apply for ILR?

As per old rules, the probationary period was 2 years BUT as per the rules announced on 13 June 2012 the probationary period will be 5 years.

Does anyone has knowledge on this matter?

Archan
