Hi

I am planning on moving my civil ceremony forward to 6 July and will submit the application online that day and pay online. Biometrics appointment cannot be scheduled until after 9 July and hard copy application set to Columbia after that (they only operate one day a month in panama which by my calculation is 11 July) - but from reading ukba site it says that for overseas applications the date of application is the date of online payment.

Our religious ceremoy is set for 28 July (and is all paid for and organised) - but I assume that as long as we are legally married and submit the application before 9 July - that it our choice if and when we have a religious ceremony/party?

Does anyone think that will work?

My problem is that I dont have all the compulsory documents listed to show that my self emplyment is through a limited company. I have no audited accounts/tax rertuns beacuse my first year end isn't until jAN 2013!!!!
Hoping to be reunited soon

Yes, as long as you provide the marriage certificate (recognized by law in that country) along with the application.

Thanks Bigeasy

You were right about the biometric appointment as well - have just booked an appointment on 11 July

Do I take it that your application was successful? How long was the processing time in Colombia?

We're still waiting. The application was received by Bogotá last month, and we received another email this week saying that it was now being reviewed by an immigration officer and we should hear back "soon". They claim on their website that they're currently taking 35 days (7 weeks) to process settlement applications and we're going in to the fifth week so will hopefully hear from them shortly.

However, we're praying more that we get the response we want and the visa gets granted rather than worrying how long they may take.

Definitely one of the most stressful and tense experiences of our lives. Though of course it's worth it to be with the person you love.

I'm applying under the current rules before 9 July. I am just doing my cover letter and calculation to show that I meet the financial requirements. I am self employed and trade through a limited company set up in Dec 2011. Income from salary and dividends varies slightly from month to month so I am saying how much in total I have been paid in salary and dividends and providing a monthly average.

My main question is regarding credit card repayments - in the calculation I am going to minus my monthly minimum payments. Do I need to provide evidence of what the minimum payments are? They are taken out from my account by DD each month so will be evident from my bank statements Sometimes I do separate transfers to pay off larger amounts over and above the DD but that is on op of the monthly payments

Thanks all
